Sergio Rossi was a successful advertising executive,
but he fell in love with the vineyards of Montalcino,
and bought his own estate in 1976.
The land was bought off the Biondi-Santi family, the
most historic name in Brunello production, and Sergio
quickly set about turning his new estate into one of the
best performing in the region.
He sadly passed away in July 2011, so the 2011 vintage
holds a special place at the estate. But his work has been
ably continued by his wife, Donatella, and his right hand
men, vineyard manager and director Alberto Passeri
and winemaker Vittorio Fiore. In their hands, Sergio’s
legacy is safe.
