Colline della Stella
In the late 1990s, young winemaker Andrea Arici, under whose name this estate is also known, decided to nurture some old, overgrown terraced vineyards on the northern border of the Franciacorta appellation. Still in his 20s, he made his first vintage from these old vines, situated on pure limestone, in 2002. He doesn’t use any dosage (additional sugar) in his wines, preferring his Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-based sparkling to show the minerality and salinity of the terroir clearly. This is one of the most crystalline Franciacortas we’ve tasted.
