Domaine Dureuil-Janthial
Vincent Dureuil-Janthial is widely regarded as the Côte Chalonnaise’s preeminent winemaker. He grows both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay across his 20-hectare, organic domaine and it’s a rare treat to find a domaine in Rully which produces equally outstanding quality wines from both grapes. Vincent Dureuil-Janthial achieves this and more. He has the majority of his holdings in Rully and Mercurey, but also smaller sites in Puligny-Montrachet and Nuits-St-Georges.He took over the estate with his wife, Céline, in 1994, and their meticulous winemaking style has shone through their wines since. Their respect for the process is clear - vineyards are organically farmed, grapes are hand-harvested and sorted with great care. With the ultimate goal to preserve the grapes natural flavours and let the fine fruit, acidity and texture show in his wines. The result is a range of Burgundies which are celebrated by critics, allowing Domaine Dureuil-Janthial to continue to build their ever-increasing reputation.
