Domaine Marc Colin was set up in St-Aubin in 1970 by Marc Colin and his wife, Michèle. They started with 6 hectares, some of which had been in their families for over a century. Their four children inherited vines from them, two choosing to go their own way (Pierre-Yves and Joseph), and two, Damien and Caroline, choosing to stay and run the domaine. Damien and Caroline now cultivate 12 hectares from the original domaine and are making characterful Pinot Noir and Chardonnay across 26 appellations throughout St-Aubin, Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. Each vintage, Damien makes Burgundies that show brilliant drive in their youth and age with elegance. He looks for freshness rather than richness and the past few vintages have firmly established this as one of the top addresses in the Côte de Beaune.
