Embraced by the picturesque landscape and medieval towns of Piceno in the Marche region of Italy, the winery Maria Pia Castelli is woven into the fabric of the region. Founded in just 1999, the winery has quickly established itself in the national and international wine scene. Maria Pia is driven by a deep love of and dedication to the unfiltered expression of the terroir. Facing south, touched by a mild climate and 200 metres above sea level, the vineyards enjoy a soil rich in clay, iron, and magnesium giving Maria Pia wines their distinctive, aromatic, Picerno character. In keeping with Pia’s ambition to capture the essence of the terroir, the winery solely uses native vines, biodynamic practises, traditional methods, and a hands-on approach at each stage of the journey.
