2019 Olivier Leflaive Frères

Franck Grux at Olivier Leflaive might just be the best white winemaker in the Côte d’Or. His wines have a distinctive tension, persistence, elegant oak, and transparent terroir. 2019 was not an easy one here, but Franck’s astute decision making on picking dates and insistence that the key to the vintage was true ripeness have resulted in yet another outstanding lineup of wonderfully fresh and powerfully elegant wines. They are 50% down in volume this year, the result of a sharp early April frost.
