A beautiful La Morra Barolo with fruit mainly from Roggeri (planted in 1953 & 2016) with a smaller portion from San Biagio and Bettolotti – the higher clay content of these soils made this wine a particular success this vintage. Opening with notes of cut rose, summer berries and tea leaf, this is so refreshing and beautiful. Vibrant, perfumed and so elegant.

The Via Nuova is sourced from a few different excellent vineyard sites and has resulted in a wine of real purity and focus. This has a classical profile, so sleek and elegant with notes of tea leaves, cherry fruit and ripe peach. Expressive and vibrant there is so much to love about this wine which straightens up on the finish with a lift of mint, iris and aniseed.

The Mosconi is quite simply exceptional this year. From this site of some of the oldest soils in the region this is brooding and structured wine yet with a totally seamless core of red berry fruit. Beautifully defined and controlled with a fragrance that opens with a little air, there are accents of lavender, peppery spice, and a little wild herb. The finish is so long and pure – a must have this year.

Such a captivating wine from this site sitting at around 400 metres in altitude. The nose opens with crushed violets, earth, summer berries and wild strawberries. There is a sense of vertiticality and lift to the wine with a spin of fine, supple tannins. The finish is beautifully detailed with notes of black tea, liquorice and fresh peach.

A more brooding and dense wine from this site that has a little more clay in the soil. Notes of blood orange, dark cherry and dried rose open on the nose while the tannins are tender and caressing while wrapping around the palate. A spectacular wine from Gianluca Grasso which shows impeccable balance.

From 2 plots, one of 60 year old vines and the other of 80 year old vines. The clones are around 60% Nebbiolo Lampia and 40% Nebbiolo Michet. It is quite a powerful wine which opens with a note of spearmint and aniseed. Around 20% stems used for fermentation. This is a beautiful wine with a very cool, sanguine and mineral note. Supple with a little wild herb spice, the finish is effortlessly long.

A little spicier than the other Oddero wines on the nose, this leads with dried wild herbs, orange peel and fresh nectarine. There is power and intensity on the palate but there is tenderness and grace too. A really impressive wine from the Oddero range this year.

This vineyard has the oldest vines of the property, at around 60 years old. There is a real seamless feel to this wine, with a strong mineral inflection of iodine and oyster shell. There is fresh wild cherry, a little licquorice with a harmonious and quite tense energy on the finish.

A classic Barolo in the sense this is sourced from estate vineyards across Barolo including La Morra, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba. This has a lot of detail immediately on pouring with blood orange, rose petal, and a little sanguine note coming through. The palate is bright and refreshing with sculpted tannins - an excellent Barolo this year.

Always a classic, Albe is a blend of three vineyards from around the estate. This is quite fleshy with flavours of wild cherry, wild herbs and a little liquorice root. Already charming and welcoming, there is still a fine twist of tannins gripping the fruit. One to enjoy over the next ten years.

From very sandy soils, this is a very perfumed wine with a breath of rose petal, fresh peach and nectarine. The tannins are very fine grained and silky in feel with a delicious red cherry emphasis on the finish. A total of 54 days of maceration this year.

The Bricco delle Viole is a stunning wine this year. From a site at 480 metres on laminated white clay the nose offers aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry with hints of rose petal. This gains momentum and amplifies on the palate with a mineral, oyster shell core and sinewy, athletic feel to the finish.

From a plot oriented south/south-east the 2021 vintage saw very long macerations and for the Ravera it was 55 days. There was some hail damage to this vineyard - reducing yields around 10-15%. This is a spicy, supple Ravera with a lift of wild herbs, violets and liquorice with fine grip of tannins that have a very saline drive. Focus and refreshing on the finish there are accents of wild strawberry, menthol and blood orange.

From one of the most exciting names in Barolo right now, the fruit for this wine largely comes from the Roddi MGA of Bricco Ambrogio wth some fruit from La Morra too. Made in a very classical way and matured in large Austrian casks, this is very fine textured, with notes of cranberry, wild strawberry and blood orange. A lift of tar and liquorice add complexity but this is a so elegant and focused on the finish.

The vines are a little less than 25 years old here, the wine opens with notes of aniseed, liquorice and blood orange. A sense of purity and a delicious sanguine quality runs below the cherry fruit some fresh peach skin, and salinity drive to the finish.

From a vineyard puchased in 1989 there is a little more flesh and density here than the Gramolere, with notes of fresh earth, peony, violets and some wild cherry fruit. This feels tense and coiled on the palate yet with brightness and purity that shows there is nothing forced here. The finish is supple and fluid with a little tar and wilted rose lingering on.

From vines with an average age of 40 years, this is quite an ethereal and aromatic Barolo with notes of fresh peach and cherry, violets and cranberry. There is a delicate bitters note with a hint of menthol too which adds complexity and there is a fine, pixelated feel to the tannins that run through the wine.

This was bottled in September 2024 after long ageing in large old oak barrels. This is an athletic and classical Barolo with real energy. A little white pepper and tar opens on the nose with notes of red cherries, wild herbs and cherry blossom flooding the palate. This is tightly coiled with a fine, compact mineral note and beautiful energy flowing through on the finish.

A serious, more brooding nose of tar, wilted rose petal and a little dried orange peel. This feels very complete on the palate, finely etched tannins with the mineral drive that shows the terroir of this site. This is going to be a very exciting wine to follow in the coming years.

This is a charming wine that exemplifies the La Morra signature of finesse and perfume. Opening with notes of fresh cut rose, cherry blossom and fennel seed this has a wonderful saline core. The tannins give a lovely structure and mineral grip around the fruit with accents of pink grapefruit and blood orange on the finish.

This Ravera from Vietti has a westerly/south-westerly exposure with an altitude of around 400 metres. While the average age of the vines is 34 years old, there are plots dating back to 1935. This is a mineral and refreshing wine with supple and sinewy tannin framing the bright summer berry fruit. This is ethereal and bright yet with a real mineral core. A fabulous Ravera.
