Château Lafleur’s family motto is “qualité passé quantité” – quality surpasses quantity. With just 4.5 hectares, relatively small for the Bordeaux region, and around 1000 cases produced each year, it is little wonder that they have amassed a cult following for their coveted wines. The Château sits opposite the infamous Pétrus estate, in the small and unassuming Bordeaux appellation, Pomerol. The plateau here is known for its “crasse de fer" and clay rich soil which impart a distinctive character to the grapes. Lafleur wines, a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, are intensely perfumed and multi-layered. With concentrated dark fruit aromas, each grape lends its own distinct personality, complexity from the Cabernet Franc and a velvety smoothness from the Merlot.
