A tiny estate, situated down a farm track
in the hills of Montalcino, Fossacolle is
fast becoming a much-prized name in this
celebrated corner of Tuscany.
The estate is run by Stefano alongside
his father, Andrea who spent years working for legendary Italian
winemaker, Giacomo Taschis, known as the father of Super Tuscans.
This experience shows through in Fossacolle’s Brunellos with their silky
tannins and ripe, balanced fruit.
This is a small scale outfit: they work four hectares of vines, with just 2.5
destined for their Brunellos. It's produced in tiny quantities: only around
10,000 bottles in each vintage. But for those lucky enough to get hold
of a bottle or two, they’re Brunellos of the very highest order. And the
secret is just getting out.
