Prats & Symington
In 1999, two of the most exalted names in winemaking joined forces to establish a venture in Portugal’s Douro Valley - the Symington family, renowned worldwide for their top portfolio of Port Houses; and the Prats family, Bordeaux winemaking royalty known for their involvement in Chȃteaux Cos d’Estournel, Lafite-Rothschild and Léoville-Las Cases.
The resulting project, aptly named Prats & Symington, released their first vintage in 2000, to critical acclaim. Their wine, Chryseia, became one of the trailblazers in the resurgence of dry Douro wines. The families have since added Post Scriptum – a sister wine to Chryseia – and acquired the Quinta de Roriz estate.
