Château Tour Saint Christophe
Château Tour Saint Christophe was acquired by financier Peter Kwok in 2012. Working the estate with his daughter, Karen, their investment and hard work in the vineyard and winery has resulted in a significant increase in quality. Since his purchase of just 6.5 hectares, Peter Kwok has increased the size of Tour Saint Christophe to 20 hectares. Most importantly, the vines lie on the steep limestone and blue clay slopes so favoured by the top wines of the region, and lofty neighbours including Troplong Mondot and Le Tertre-Roteboeuf. The majority of the vineyard is planted with Merlot, plus a small amount of old-vine Cabernet Franc which balances and adds complexity. Much of their growing reputation is down to the meticulous care that Peter, Karen and consultant Michel Rolland show to the estate - grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted and oak is used judiciously.
