Serralunga d’Alba
This commune spanning some 465 hectares is located on the east of the region with a total of 39 MGAs.
The soils of Serralunga are some of the oldest of the area and more compacted with a high proportion of limestone and white-grey marls.
The vineyards of Serralunga are divided by those that sit on the eastern slope and those on the western slope. On the south-east exposed side there are the vineyards of Prapo and Cerretta, while on the south-west exposed side are the vineyards of Vigna Rionda and Lazzarito.
The style of wines from this commune tend to be the most structured, mineral and compact expressions of Nebbiolo.
